Child and guardian details
Complete the identifying information with the parent or guardian present.
Current photograph
Use even lighting and frame the child from the shoulders up against a plain background.
Camera is off.
Take the photo with a phone
Create a short-lived PrintKit link. The phone can use any internet connection, and the photo arrives here automatically.
Waiting to create a pairing link.
The link is short-lived. The relay holds the image in memory only until this station imports it; PrintKit does not persist it.
Ten fingerprint captures
Click Capture, then place your finger on the scanner.
Reconnect the reader and select “Test fingerprint reader.” If it still does not connect, ask the event’s IT contact to check the station installation.
Review and create the parent copy
Check every detail before handing over the kit. The card is designed for US Letter paper in landscape orientation.
Confirm every detail with the parent or guardian. PrintKit creates a US Letter landscape PDF from the card below.

Create the parent PDF
The password protects the PDF attachment. Tell the parent the password separately—never in the same email.
Nothing has been sent.
Kit contents record
Turn this off when the department does not have cheek-swab kits available.
Station settings
Set the department header and choose a PrintKit color before the event. These non-child settings stay in memory for this session; export a configuration file to reuse them later.
PNG, JPEG, or WebP; up to 5 MB.
The selected color updates the full station palette immediately.
Use light mode for bright spaces or dark mode for evening and indoor setups.
Department details, badge, color theme, and appearance are not stored by this browser. Export a config file before closing if you want to reuse them.
Operator workflow
A short event checklist for officers, volunteers, and explorers using a prepared station.
Open PrintKit
Open the agency’s PrintKit web address in current Chrome or Edge on the prepared Windows station.
Test the fingerprint reader
Connect the U.are.U reader, open Fingerprints, and select “Test fingerprint reader.” A connected reader name confirms the station is ready.
Complete the kit with the guardian present
- Confirm consent and enter identifying details.
- Capture a current, well-lit photo with the paired phone, laptop camera, or a saved image.
- Capture all ten fingerprints in the order shown.
- Review the card and mark the physical items provided.
Create the parent copy
Review the 10-print-card layout, choose a strong PDF password, and download or email the protected parent copy.
Clear the station
Select “Disconnect phone,” then “Clear kit data.” Confirm that the form, photo, and fingerprint slots are blank before serving the next family.
Close at the end of the event
Clear the current kit, confirm the form and captures are blank, then close the browser tab. PrintKit keeps no child record after the session ends.
The event’s IT contact should use the separate installer page to maintain Python, the WBF driver, and the HID Authentication Device Client.
